Mine drum dishes sound terrible and disturbing at the right chanel and when the sax plays on the right channel especially in the first three minutes allong with the drum dishes they kinda stop and continue after sax stops... they are 100% inaudible when sax plays and then start again.. generaly the dishes sound terrible while everything else is totaly fine. To that end, it’s become commonplace for early jazz guitarists to say that they are not found of the guitar as a whole, that they are in awe or envy of the richer harmonies delivered by a pianist, or the linear possibilities to soar by those holding down the trumpet or saxophone, though after the death of Grant Green in 1978 the nature of the guitar’s sound changed dramatically, with the naked, even natural tones Grant was known for and associated with, seeming to fall out of favor, replaced by delay, distortion, effects and guitar choruses … simply consider Bill Frisell, Pat Metheny or even Ben Monder, all artist who pushed and ebbed the guitar’s language forward with a warmer, highly polished and wetter sound.

I had a listen to my Mono original copy last night to prime up for the stereo. In all he made twenty-two albums as a band leader between 1960 and 1965, yet only fourteen were released during his lifetime, seeming for this listener that as dynamic as Grant was, his exposure was severely limited … or do things naturally become more relevant and precious when an artist dies.
