who is running for perth lord mayor

I met Brodie McCulloch over 8 years ago, when I was an early adopter member of Spacecubed, in the Perth CBD. I couldn’t imagine a better person to be Lord Mayor of Perth, trustworthy, fair and honest and just what Perth needs. Laurie and I moved to Perth over thirty years ago. He has over the 10 years I have worked with and known him built an impressive community and business at Spacecubed, bringing together groups ranging from large corporates to micro-business owners and working with government at all levels and not-for-profit I’m excited about what’s possible under his leadership. Brodie has innovatively breathed life and vibrancy into City spaces. he thinks about what he is building, it is for the genuine interested of the community. I am excited to participate in the various opportunities available to give back to the community. I see this City of Perth election as a unique moment in time where the relevance of local government is increasing and we have the opportunity to raise the bar of what local government can achieve in our City. During high school, I volunteered with the Perth Food Bank (The Table), the Salvation Army, and the Lanark Lodge. After speaking with Brodie, I not only believe in his policies but more importantly his ability to deliver on them. There will be challenges ahead in meeting our infrastructure renewal plans while keeping Perth an affordable place to live, work and play. During the last term, I was Chair of the Community Services department, Chair of the Downtown Perth Business Improvement Area, and  Chair of the Community Improvement Plan Advisory Panel. Perth is a vibrant Town and an exciting place to live. Over this twenty-six-year period I was a manager with the latter two companies. Brodie is my first choice for Mayor because he is a proven businessman and will make decisions putting business first that will drive the economy and the hotel industry in Perth. I worked for the Lanark Era newspaper for ten years, and for the Perth Courier for ten years, which enabled me to become very familiar with Perth area businesses.I have three adult daughters and eight grandchildren. Mark Gibson has lived in the centre of Perth for almost 20 years. I see Brodie as being truly committed to getting things done by being inclusive and consulting widely. That’s the sort of person that can lead Perth as Lord Mayor!
