It contains detailed plans for the average citizen to survive zombie uprisings of varying intensity and reach, and describes "cases" of zombie outbreaks in history, including an interpretation of Roanoke Colony. The basic concept is to briefly cover, in graphic novel format, a series of outbreaks occurring throughout history, starting in the stone age and ending in modern America. . Warning: zombies are not the only monsters here.
The second story was my favorite, for it made a connection between zombies and explaining why ancient mummies that have been discovered have had their brains pulled out. It's a short book, thankfully, but most of the theories are too far fetched to believe them.
A good illustrated compendium on recorded attacks throughout history in different parts of the world.
I enjoyed the stories, and loved the drawing overall. All in all, it's okay. and working forward to closer to present day. The artwork was great, highly detailed and pretty much the only saving grace for this book.

One thing that did catch my attention as soon as I saw The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks. By subject matter, themes, and scenario, it could be called a graphic novel, but Recorded Attacks is comprised of 12 short pieces in comics form that are more like historical accounts or anecdotes than they are like short stories. It is a short read, but Roberson's art is astounding and reminded me of John Buscema's and Ernie Chan's artwork from the Savage Sword of Conan series of the 80's and 90's. I thght this was overall just okay.
Loved the art in this. What would you do during, before, after a Zombie Apocalypse. I had to scour the backcover to find the name of the artist, Ibraim Roberson. Apparently, this was all originally written for and published in the original Survival Guide.
However, the artwork is excellent, atmospheric and detailed with nice use of frames and mirroring, so this pushes the rating up to three stars. Ibraim Roberson’s potent and gruesome depictions of the assault on and decay of human flesh give The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks the edge it needs to work as a horror comic book. 1.5 stars. The rest seem to vary in length, and went from moderately interesting to skim-worthy and back again several times. While the art work was excellent, and the stories if told in isolation are interesting, it strained credibility that there have been multiple zombie outbreaks that haven't garnered world wide attention and been eradicated while the threat was small.
