daughter of frankenstein (1971)

SANTO VS. FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER is probably the most triumphant blending of Santo and Mary … She's no longer just daddy's little girl! Awards Horror veteran and personal favorite Joseph Cotton ("The Abominable Dr. Phibes", "Baron Blood") portrays the over-ambitious and slightly obnoxious Baron slash scientist Frankenstein who gets killed by his own creation after not carefully considering the dangers of his experiments. User Ratings Welles ventured into director’s chair upon three other occasions with the crime thriller Code of Silence (1957), the Spanish/German killer tree film Island of the Doomed/Man-Eater of Hydra (1966) and the exploitation film Joyride to Nowhere (1977). The two fall in love and attempt to transplant Marshall’s brain in to the muscular body of a retarded servant Stephen, in order to prolong the aging Marshall’s life. She oozes desire and seduction quite well. For example, Dr. Frankenstein's line about man being God on earth takes Colin Clive's speech from the original Frankenstein to a whole new level. Two of the more interesting characters were a very refined police detective and a small-time criminal whom he could never pin anything on, and whom the detective seemed to hate because of their class differences as much as any other reason. But it throws in a lustful Madame Frankenstein, who is obsessed with vindicating her father who has always been "misunderstood." The plot – Lady Frankenstein wants to transplant her middle-aging paramour’s brain into the body of the handsome but imbecilic stable boy – is passable if somewhat far-fetched. She don't give a damn bout her bad reputation. Cast; Crew; Details; Genres; Cast. Riccardo Pallottini's cinematography is a bit rough, but overall acceptable. If you've seen this movie you either stumbled across it on Italian TV, or you have the dubbed version on the 50 Chilling Classics Box set like i have, as number 24. Joesph Cotton stars as the good doctor who is in the process of creating his creature when his daughter Tania comes back from college. The baron's daughter, Tania, who has just arrived from university with the help of his lab assistant, decides to go on and continue with her father's work. Seriously though, Neri shed her clothes so graciously on screen and looked so appealing doing it that no one ever gave her credit for being the great actress that she was. After her father's death, played by Joseph Cotton who must be wondering how the hell he's gone from Citizen Kane to cheap euro-horror, by the hands of the Baron's creation with a brain supplied by a man that eerily resembles Patrick Swayze circa Point Break, the nubile doctor Tania Frankenstein becomes determined to advance in her father's morbid work. That is where village dolt Thomas steps in as the half-wit has been graced with good looks and brings the thunder into Tania's private lab if you catch my drift. Who knew the sight of a mutilated corpse got her juices flowing? Using a youth serum to retain their vitality, the doctors set their sights upon none other than El Santo. As for the rest of the cast, Paul Muller is somewhat effective as Dr. Charles Marshall, the baron's assistant and an admirer of the daughter for some time. The music is effective, and the special effects okay, if not brilliant. Just wow. Fux is best known for TV roles in Austria, but his most memorable ones are still those in 70s Exploitation flicks. The cast includes several other familiar faces for Horror/Exploitation fans, most memorably the sinister Paul Muller ("Nightmare Castle", "Vampiros Lesbos", "Nights Of Dracula"), and Austrian actor Herbert Fux ("Mark Of The Devil", Jack The Ripper",...), who recently passed away. Plot is rather traditional Frankenstein picture, but one with bad English dubbing and clumsy editing. Lady Frankenstein Photo Print (14 x 11) is a licensed reproduction that was printed on Premium Heavy Stock Paper which captures all of the vivid colors and details of the original. Jayne Mansfield's one time husband Mickey Hargitay ("The Crimson Executioner") and Joshua Sinclair ("Keoma") also have roles in the film. Stolen bodies. Bey/Neri gives the role far more than it deserves in a fierily passionate and seductive performance. Meanwhile, Frankenstein's intelligent but equally stubborn daughter Tania continues her father's work, using the weak-minded men at the castle as reluctant research objects. When Baron Frankenstein (Joseph Cotton) is killed by his creation, his daughter sets out to create her own to bring the killer to justice and to make herself the perfect mate while she's at it. Makes one long for the days of Glenn Strange, or even Kiwi Kingston. And lets just say there's a reason why these movies are here. This one focuses on this more disturbing aspect of this and does a decent job of exploiting it. I didn't realize for a long while that the detective was played by Mickey Hargitay. How could some critics say it's just nonsense ? This movie takes everything you know about Frankenstein and turns it completely upside down... and not in a good way. Although masked Mexican wrestling hero Santo has had numerous encounters with Dracula and other vampires, his confrontations with the Frankenstein legend were not as substantial. Tania loves his mind but can't quite picture jumping into the sack with the old horny bastard without a serious makeover. instant marriage material. Download Lady Frankenstein (1971) Torrent: When Dr. Frankenstein is killed by a monster he created, his daughter and his lab assistant Marshall continue his experiments. I almost forgot to mention that she can act as well. This is pretty much the same old story. Tania seductively plans to create a perfect being with the brains of her fellow assistant and the body of the slow-witted servant. It is actually quite lush-looking picture, especially gorgeous costumes Lady Frankenstein (Sara Bay alias Rosalba Neri) and the little seen nominal heroine use, and although there is nudity and perverse necrophiliac slut as villainess, this offers more than I actually expected. Joseph Cotten, Rosalba Neri, Paul Muller, and even Mickey Hargitay give performances that are as good as most any other Italian horror film of the period. In yet another adaptation of the Frankenstein monster myth, director Mel Welles (with co-director Aureliano Luppi) takes our now infamous Halloween villain to a realm where free love is just as popular as monster creation. Review (Spoils): Dr. Frankenstein get killed by the monster that… This cheap Italian Hammer knock-off puts a pretty simple spin on the much told Frankenstein tale. After Baron Frankenstein (a dignified portrayal by Joseph Cotten) gets killed by his hideously disfigured creation (hulking Paul Whiteman), the Baron's smart, feisty, and determined daughter Tania (ably played with devilishly sensuous aplomb by the ravishing Rosalba Neri) decides to make her own creature using the brilliant mind of her assistant and the hunky muscular body of a dim-witted servant in order to make the perfect lover and killer. It all may look silly, and of course it is sometimes, but Mel Welles' film contains a lot more style and dazzling Gothic atmosphere than the majority of contemporary Italian exploitation flicks. A hugely enjoyable flick. I have a real prejudice in favor of weird Italian movies (horror, SF, "Peplum", any kind), from the ones considered masterpieces to the ones considered awful, and this is really no exception (I first saw it only a year ago). Lady Frankenstein (Aka Daughter of Frankenstein Aka La Figlia Di Frankenstein) Joseph Cotten 1971 Photo Print (14 x 11): Home: Amazon.com.au Mel Welles, you might remember him as Mr. Mushnick in Roger Corman's Little Shop of Horrors, directs this somewhat interesting yet wholly twisted tale of Dr. Frankenstein's daughter carrying on her father's work after his death and creating a creature not for its intellectual ability or its likelihood to be/do good but rather for its sex appeal. He is successful but the creature, which is hideously disfigured and possesses superhuman strength, kills the Baron and then flees into the countryside, killing all it comes across. She tells her father’s middle-aged assistant Charles Marshall, who has a crush on her, her outrageous plan – to transplant his brain into the body of the intellectually handicapped stable boy so that she can have someone who loves her but is also handsome and youthful. One fine aspect of the film is Sara Bey (in actuality Italian actress Rosalba Neri, who appeared in a number of Jesus Franco exploitation pictures, usually unclothed) in the title role. The criminal said, "The same thing YOU call it.". The make-up effects are rather poor, but the set pieces are effectively uncanny and director Welles often succeeds in creating a tense atmosphere with the use of eerie sounds and a wide range of unnatural colors. Not the worst of the Frankenstein films; in fact a rather novel departure from the usual. This is closer to being an eerie melodrama than horror flick.
